The walls have been built entirely of clay from a few hundred meters away. Even the final green clay paint comes from a place nearby only accesable by horse. This is not a hostel. The whole cabin is rented from our guests, making privacy an important aspect.
You have the choice of cooking yourself or being pampered with our fine cousine from our italian "chef". Local organic sheep or lamb can be requested with advance. For larger events we raccomend the whole cow, one of the specialties "vaca con cuero". We try to use in-season vegetables grown right at Killa Machalo. If you come in March and the peach trees have fruit, you can eat all the peached you want. The water you will be drinking during your stay comes from a tested and protected spring situated at Killa Machalo.
It's best to bring clothes for hot and cold weather. Sometimes in the middle of summer a cold front can bring drastically cold weather for short amount of time. Also bring a rugged pair of pants and hiking boots. A head lamp is always usefull. We provide fresh linins, towels, organic herbal shampoo and soaps.
A little description of Killa is that it's a highland where the water is produced, where the vital fluid springs up. The area is full of rivers, waterfalls and swimming holes. On the top of the hills we can appreciate where we are, just natural landscape 360 degrees. We can see soaring eagles, condors and incredible sunsets. Incredible unusual rock formations in the middle of Quebracho forests, we can bring you there. There is always more to see and new discoveries to be made. We can also bring you to a canyon filled with hundreds of peach trees right below the condors nest. You decide.
